5、Decode

http://slurl.com/secondlife/3DBuildEasy/183/114/508

通常、5000~6000ぐらいが、こんなツールなので安いほうかな?って思ってます。

あ、最後にインワールドで作りますので、GRID(グリッド)やPROTECTOR(分度器)を
きちんと併用しなければ汚くなりますよww。あしからず。

-------manual--------
Welcome to SculptCrafter!

This tool will show you how to turn box/sphere/cylinder/pyramid linksets into acceptable sculpties inworld. If you are running the demo, it is fully functional (aside from the 30% of max sculpt count limit) and you'll be able to create full perm sculpties when in the SculptCrafter sandbox.

With this tool you should have rezzed something called "SculptCrafter box" and some other shapes. These are the prims you will be using.

NOTE: you can't use freshly created prims for this (unless you want to drag scripts in), you should use the ones I supply and DON'T change their prim type!

1- Edit SculptCrafter prims (NOT regular) prims according to the limits written in the description of each prim (i.e. no twist, no hollow spheres, etc), up to 10 prims. (full version is 42 boxes or 28 spheres or 23 cylinders or 64 planks or 85 spikes per sculpt, or some mix of those).

Some people just use the prims that come with the demo without moving them, just to learn the process.

See ADVICE AND LIMITATIONS section for what works, and look up the panel at the end of the sandbox where what is possible is put in green, the rest in red. If you need more than 1 of a certain prim type, just move it while holding the shift key down it will make an extra prim.

2- Make sure you don't have 2 faces that exactly overlap (it would cause the sculptie to flicker at the spot where they overlap). It's OK that 2 prims go thru one another if they don't have an exact overlap face. Keep in mind that the tool rounds at the nearest 0.04 meters SO MAKE STUFF AT LEAST THAT THICK! Also, look up the description of cylinder prims, change the number of sides if you want more round or more prims per sculpt (valid values listed in FAQ).

3- Once you have a nice linkset of SculptCrafter prims (or prims with SculptCrafter box/sphere/cylinder/plank/spike scripts dragged in), link them all with the diskette, with the diskette selected last so it is "root". Just remember that twist/cut is not supported and that hollow and cut only works on cylinders...

4- If the the diskette is not green, reset script(s) in it. That is done under the Tool menu, only visible when you select objects.

5- Touch the diskette. It becomes dark blue. Wait about 2 seconds, touch again, it becomes red/black. You should soon receive a large text file in chat. (it can occasionally fail, if nothing happens after 10 seconds you may need to reset all scripts or something. Script lag can be annoying.)

6- Open up the Local chat tab, and copy the huge text file, from "begin 777"... to ..."end" (including those words. Do not worry about "cleaning up" any junk in the middle). Some of your usual cut-and-paste methods may not work here, use control-c or open the "edit" menu at the topleft of your window and pick Copy.

7- Open firefox or Internet Explorer (not SL's browser). Paste that large text into the large textbox at http://www.webutils.pl/index.php?idx=uu (other uudecode tools will work but this one is very easy). You might want to bookmark that site, you'll use it often enough before you decide to download an utility that does the same thing as explained in the FAQ!

8- Click the "Decode" button. You may have to scroll a bit down to see it. Do not worry about the error message, it only says it's not text (it's a picture).

9- Scroll a bit down, click the green "Save to file" button. You'll be able to download the 512x8 pixels rectangular sculptie map. The file should be SCULPT.BMP (if you get webutils_pl.uue you probably clicked "encode" by error or did not copy-paste the whole 17000 characters including the "begin" and "end" bits). Mac users may need to rename "sculpt" to "sculpt.bmp".

10- Under FILE in the upper left corner of your Second Life screen, choose Upload Image and make sure there is a check in the checkbox for "Use lossless compression" just before spending 10L to upload. (failure to do so resilts in "slightly chewed" look). Notice the sculptie-preview of second life may not work correctly (the 1.22.11 viewer allows you to preview it with the wrong stitching which makes spheres look like pacmans; older viewers show nonsense).

11- Rez a normal *BOX* (NOT a sphere), make it phantom and change it to a sculptie under the Objects tab. If you forgot to make it phantom, it will have a physical presence the size of an equivalent sphere (see the FAQ to get a cool freebie script to make sculptie physics correctly).

12- Set "stitching type" to "Plane". If you forget your boxes/spheres will sort of look like pacmans or sometimes much weirder, and sometimes just flicker annoyingly.

13- (optional)- Add texture or color. For your very first object find a simple seamless texture and set vertical repeats to 32 or 64, and tweak from there.

14- If something went wrong, read the manual more carefully, check out the FAQ, ask around the SculptCrafter Sandbox, click the demo giver to join the group and ask there, or if all else fails ask Contagious Republic.

ADVICE AND LIMITATIONS:

-Demos have a limit of 30% of the sculpt map, so you can, say, do only 13 boxes instead of 42 for a full version. With the full version you can make extreme prim savings such as 64-steps stairs with using the plank prim. The demo can still be used for profit within the demo's limits, but we both know you'll want more soon...

-This tool makes a 10x10x10m sculpted prim look like the linkset (any smaller = sculpted prim looks smaller than the linkset). Keep that in mind when you try to do a certain size and want a certain sized bounding box which determines how large the physical presence will be on non-phantom sets.

-If you want your sculptie to be non-phantom and have physical presence the size of your sculptie prim, use a nearly 10x10x10m linkset.

-Linden Labs viewer 1.23.5 has much, much, much less sculptie bugs than older viewers.

-This sculptie tool currently supports only the primitive that come wit the demo... that means no torus, no prisms, no rings, no sculptie as input, etc.

-It only does position, rotation, size, shear, taper on boxes/planks/spikes, planks can do hollow. Position, rotation, size, shear, taper, cut, hollow on cylinders - and position, rotation, size, dimple in .25 increments on spheres (spheres look octogonal and that tends to SUCK, sorry, double precision spheres not ready).

-Planks have an ugly seam on the top and the bottom making them hard to texture, so only use it if you're willing to live with that for the purpose of putting more prims per sculpt (also they do hollow). Spikes are a variant of boxes that can put even more prims per sculptie, but has to end in a point.

-If you change a prim into another kind of prim the script will not work! The box script only does boxes and the sphere script only does spheres, etc.

-The output sculptie will be the approximate but not exact size of the original linkset, if you put the sculptie object to 10x10x10 meters. The SculptCrafter's positions work by steps of 4 centimeters, so don't work too small or alignment may be awful... try at least 3x3x3 meters linkset even when working on something really simple.

-If you want maximum precision, make a a large linkset (but not TOO large, any point beyond 5 meters away from root center will fail). Precision is gained at the cost of less LOD-problem prevention.

-Don't sit on any of those prims while you are running any of the scripts, it causes bugs.

-If you make some of the prims 55% transparent and then do a "reset scripts in selection" under tools, temporary red spheres will appear where the script will put sculptie corners. This is incredibly useful to align things when it's not obvious!

-The cylinder's number of sides can be adjusted - just change the first number in the prim description. That's just under the prim's name.

-The demo version will only work in the SculptCraft sandbox which is where you get the demo at, and also work anywhere during the 1rst day of each month.

Buying the full version lifts the "do it in sandbox only" and the "30% of max prim count" restrictions, and grants free upgrades for life on SculptCrafter.

WHERE IS...

-The sandbox? That's where the landmark in the diskette's inventory sends you.

-The demo? In the SculptCrafter sandbox's demo giver, and in your SculptCrafter demo folder

-The full version? A vendor next to the demo giver.

-The free upgrades? Get your "Proof of purchase" gesture from your old diskette and put it in a day-fresh demo. Then your demo runs just like the full version.
